GENERAL RULES:
- Payments: we only accept cash or debit and credit card!
- Reservations: We don’t take any reservations! First-come, first-served.
- Refunds: Refunds are not possible (policy). In case you don’t wish to participate anymore, we advice you to resell your ticket to your fellow students. (You are allowed to use our facebook eventpage for this.)
- ESN card: You need to have an ESN card to join most of our events. You can buy an ESN card at our office or on the day of the event if you are an UvA, HvA or AUC student. If you do not have an ESN card when it’s required, you will not be able to participate in the event.
- Online/Offline sales: Online & offline sales should be seen as apart from each other. If the online sales for tickets has been sold out, it is not necessarily the case for offline sales. Pass by our office or call us during office hours to ask about the tickets left.
Housing
- I have trouble finding housing in Amsterdam, what can I do?

Unfortunately ISN Amsterdam can’t provide assistence in housing. - Something went wrong with the provision of housing by the University, what can I do?
It would be best to contact the University of Amsterdam or the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences directly.
ESN Card
- What is an ESN Card?
The ESN Card is the ISN Amsterdam membership card. With this card:
1. You can get access to our weekly international student night at Coco’s outback. Your UvA- or AUAS-student card also gives entrance, however ESN card has priority when it’s too busy (especially during the first weeks of the semester).
2. As a non-profit organization we offer activities, events, trips on a very low price. With the ESN card students gain access to these activities. So there’s no additional discount on our prices

You can buy the ESN Card in the ISN office during office hours. Address: Nieuwe Achtergracht 170, room 1.15. During the first weeks of the semester, we will also be selling the ESN cards during the International Student Night on Wednesday nights at Coco’s Outback. - When can I buy the ESN Card?
You can buy them in our office on Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays 13:00-15:00. - What discounts can I get with the ESN Card?

As a non-profit organization we offer activities, events, trips on a very low price. With the ESN card students gain access to these activities. So there’s no additional discount on our prices - How do I fill in the ESN Card?
Fill out your personal information as correct as possible. Write ISN Amsterdam at ESN section and add a picture afterwards. You can stick this picture with the plastic cover that’s on the card (be careful not to peel the whole plastic off). Some of our partners require that the students have pictures for their discount, so it would be recommended to add a photo. The picture doesn’t have to be a professional one, but it has to look like the person. You can also just print something from the library.
ISN Amsterdam
- Is ISN Amsterdam part of my university?
ISN Amsterdam is an independent organization that have a cooperation agreement with the Uversity of Amsterdam (UvA) & the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS). Therefore, we are not officially part of the universities, but we are intensively working together with the schools. - What is the difference between ISN & ESN?
Not much, since they are both part of the same organization, namely Erasmus Student Network. The Erasmus Student Network is a non-profit organization that helps international students with sections all around the world. In Amsterdam we have 2 sections: ISN Amsterdam & ESN VU Amsterdam. ISN Amsterdam focuses on students from the University of Amsterdam & the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, while ESN VU Amsterdam focuses on students from the Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam. We organize different activities through the year, but in the end we have the same vision & parent organization. Both sections sell the ESN Membership Card that gives you access to the same discounts. Every semester there will also be several events that are in collaboration with ESN VU Amsterdam. - What can ISN Amsterdam offer me?

ErasmusIntern.org provides an integrated market place that aims at bringing together traineeship providers and students seeking a training opportunity abroad.ErasmusIntern.org is part of STORY project which is a project by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). The STORY project has been funded with support of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission. This project aims at improving the accessibility and quality of international traineeships, as well as at increasing the awareness on the existence of such opportunities for youth. In order to achieve this, a research on the subject was committed, and this online platform is being developed in order to enhance students’ international opportunities on the European job market.ErasmusIntern.org provides a place where companies and organisations can publish their traineeship offers and search for trainees and where students that want to do a traineeship abroad can have their profiles, search and apply for traineeships vacancies.

ISN Introduction Week vs. Intreeweek
- Is there a difference between the ISN Introduction Week and the Intreeweek?
Yes, the ISN Introduction Week focuses on incoming international exchange students in Amsterdam while the Intreeweek focuses on both new Dutch & international students. Intreeweek does this apart from ISN.
